The Moon

The Moon is Earth?s only natural satellite and the second brightest object in the sky after the Sun. Its brightness comes from the reflection of sunlight from its surface. The Moon goes around the Earth in an elliptical orbit, at a mean distance of 384,000 km. Our satellite is much bigger than other satellites with respect to the planets they orbit around.
